The inspiration for this album came from Guido Schulz, our Sales & Marketing Director for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Poland. Guido identified that many international production companies and broadcasters would be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the great composer, Beethoven’s birth, this December – and that a dedicated album covering his early, mid and late works would be a great way to support these productions.
Internationally renowned concert pianist and composer, John Lenehan, who has performed a great many of Beethoven’s works and studied his life and compositional development, was the perfect choice to present this collection of Beethoven’s works on The Scoring House. With more than 70 albums to his credit, concert performances throughout the world and praise from the New York Times for his “great flair and virtuosity” and the (London) Times – “a masterly recital” – it was really very special to collaborate with John so closely on this project.
